Easter 3: Ideas to help the 3’s and under connect with this weeks RCL readings

These suggestions are for use with the 3’s and under who are in worship with you. Or use them during the week to keep connecting with Sunday’s worship.

You may need to organise some resources before Sunday and place in a special Church Bag so you can pick it up and run and have everything with you to share worship with your little one.

OR CHILDREN OF the KING By Max Lucado  this is not a toddlers book but everyone I know loves these books (old and young) just read p.31 for this age group. If they want more then read the book at their pace. They will let you know when they want you to stop.

DRAW: a church full of the children of God

PLAY:  Use the hand rhyme here is the church and here is the steeple. You can see the long version here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-H3E33o4URc substitute Here is God’s children instead of see all of the people.

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 24:36b-48

READ: The Jesus Storybook Bible Going Home, pp.318-321

DRAW: the story

PLAY: Prepare a meal of fish and set a place for Jesus. Use the Ikea food or cut out some fish and bread for them to make a meal with. You can even make some out of material. Invite soft toys or dolls and leave a space for Jesus. Use paper plates to set a table (don’t use supermarket plastic cutlery as they are often sharp, with this age) small spoons might be ok. Toy sets are often better just check the age recommendations for the product.
